  Looking for a something other than pizza and burgers in Gardiner, we came across Iron Horse on Yelp. The food was hardy and flavorful. I had the bison shepherds pie and my family had the pork chops, trout, and ribs. All were delicious and we left satisfied. Also recommend the fried pickles as an app. From the parking lot, it looks like you're stepping into a warehouse, but the iron horse is right next to the Yellowstone River so if you choose to step out on the deck, there's plenty of dining space and fresh Montana air. The interior and exterior is decorated with memorabilia from the decades passed like metal-plated ads, taxidermy, and paintings. A memorable place to eat if you're stopping by.

  I'm huge on customer service and this place was TERRIBLE! I'm not sure if the crew was hungover or what...but they ALL were very RUDE! I'm from Gardiner MT...and it amazes me that people have to experience this!!! They only had one table of customers and the waitress acted like we were a waste of her time. No smile, no welcome, just a dirty look. We have twins and she looked down and said, well we have one high chair so. I said that was fine, then the high chair given to us was broken and didn't even lock. VERY UN-SAFE! I'm not sure how many times I said thank you and they (the staff ignored me!) Towards the end of our lunch the only people greeted and spoken to with a smile were locals who sat at the bar and gossiped. As a server was eating behind the bar eating lunch, not washing her hands. DISGUSTED! As we left I went out of my way to say thank you and again we were ignored, not even a wave goodbye. We never even received a "your welcome or anything." This happened nearly 4 days ago and I'm still extremely upset. I will do everything in my power to make sure my experience is shared! If your going to charge someone $15 a hamburger, at least give the customer a smile or a thank you~ Shame on you and I hope this is seen and shared!!!

  They were closing up for the season on September 26th; said they were almost out of food so we left and could not find parking anywhere in the town to search for another restaurant. We finally gave up and went back to our wonderful Chico, where we found food! The park and Gardiner were food deserts; if you go to the park, bring your own food, as it's closing fast.

  Best bison burger ever tried! And the local beer washes it down nicely. Not to mention the selection of puddings...
